You all know how this pattern is written for fingering or sportsweight yarn, right? I was wondering about using lace weight yarn for this pattern, if I would need less yardage? How much less yardage would I need?
I'm so itching to get started on this one! Would you call me optemistic if I told you that I had ordered the blocking wires already?...
Also, what are people thinking about colour choices? I am pretty well thinking of teal-y colours. Is anyone being more adventurous?

I am definitely planning to use laceweight -- cashmere/silk from Colourmart. I will have to do a bit of fiddling to find the right needle size though. And I am thinkingof using a deep green or going way out on a limb and using terracotta.
The sportweight version knit by Ailsa used approx 1400 yds and the fingering version that I knit (see my blog) used about 1300 yds. Just for your reference. :)
I just finished one in Zephyr - I haven't weighed it yet but I would estimate it used about 1200 yds of laceweight. Although zephyr is like a tree trunk compared to some of the colourmart cashsilk I've seen!
Won't it be gorgeous to see all the variations?
hello,
i am french and don't know about those nominations like fingering, laceweight, DK, etc...
i need your help on this one as i found a yarn that suits my pocket and uses just 2 skeins to have more than the 1500 yards required.
it says on it to use size 1 UK needles...
